The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is based on the world-wide bestselling series by Suzanne Collins and now the unsurpassed movie directed by Gary Ross. The movie is about a dystopian future, the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss's young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives. The movie has an allstar cast of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, and Wes Bentley. The series consistists of three books The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. It is ok for 14+ and I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

War Horse
War Horse was a great movie about young Albert who enlists to serve in WWI after his beloved horse, Joey, is sold to the cavalry. Albert's hopeful journey takes him out of England and across Europe as the war rages on. It's rated PG-13 for intense sequences of war violence but it is an amazing movie for children 11 and up. It's now in theaters but is expected to release on DVD in April or May.

The Twilight Saga:Breaking Dawn Part 1
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Special Edition
Available February 11th
Breaking Dawn was a great movie but it is rated PG-13 for disturbing images, violence, sexuality/partial nudity and some thematic elements but the rating really tells it all. As you can see it is available February 11th on DVD and bluray. I recommend it over 13 years of age. It has a cast of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson.
